After 5 long agonizing months of dealing with customer support from Best Buy and Westinghouse I finally got my 22" monitor replaced! I forgot what it was like to have dual 22's!

I just saw a 30" when I picked up my mb. I didn't think it would be that much better than my 24" but....I was wrong. It looked really sweet and now I want one.

Yeah I'm sure I'll end up with one at some point in the future. Just remember that to run on of those babys you need a video card that supports Dual Link DVI. That means you run two dvi cables from your vid to the monitor to get fantastic resolutions.

I use to have two 21" CRT monitors and a 17" CRT in a tri monitor setup. Man that took up a lot of desk space tho!
Both of my 21" went out with a "firework" show. Or at least thats what it sounded like! When they went out you could hear a bunch of loud "electrical" snaps!

It's not a question of "if" but a question of "when"! It happens to all CRT monitors when they wear out.

My CRTs are dying :[
and that's all I have aside from my laptop, yaaaay
I'm confused Trashed, you said you dealt with customer support at BestBuy - I was under the impression that they went straight from sale to fucked in the ass http://phlorph.com/test/images/smilies/wink.gif
God Bestbuy is the worst electronics company
These are recovered posts.

Lololololololololololololololol! It's funny how often I hear that statement at work, right before a department buys all it's employee's a second monitor! And then a month later all of them are saying they can't live without duals!!

Seconded, For some jobs its just essential to have dual monitors. Everyone at my work has got dual monitors now and they all love it. I can see how some people would prefer to have one huge monitor though. My boss for instance always loses her mouse with two monitors and gets really annoyed because she never knows which monitor her program is going to open up in So she got a nice 30'' screen.

My two are similar and the same size, one is an older model and one was the next years model, still works. I used to run my current secondary as my primary with my old CRT as the secondary.

Lol, loses her mouse? So hard to find that pesky critter! :p
I would love to get a 24" or 30" for my primary monitor, I would still keep my to 20"'s though, one on each side and have even more space to fill :D

I should be getting my 26" delivered tomorrow, I'll be using it as a HDTV also, so wanted something pretty big. I'll probably use my nice little 19" as a secondary monitor.
Would it be a problem to use a 26" widescreen with a 19" non-widescreen?

On the technical side, no. On the sanity side, yes! Resolution differences drive me crazy, but it is still better than one monitor.
Edit: You do need a video card that supports two monitors tho.

That's what I figured, thanks for confirming it though. But yea, I didn't think about the different resolutions...I'll either get used to it quite quickly, or hate it.

At home I got a crappy setup of my laptop (14'' widescreen) Extended to my 17'' Tube CRT. The different resolutions are quite annoying :P.

Depends on what your putting on the second screen, for a while I had my nice 20" lcd and a crappy 15 year old 1024 max res crt, I just used it for aim and window's folders stuff and it worked well for that. Now that I have the better lcd and lcd setup I can do so much more but the smaller res of the old setup was manageable with what I was doing.
It can get frustrating though, going to a setup like that now would drive me up the wall.

at 30" i think they need to make the screens kinda curved or else the corners start seeming far away...
