I'm tired of the random douchebags on b-net. If anyone plays dota, let's play together and have some good games.

Myself, Adroit and Necrosis played DOTA a TON, dont like any of the versions beyond 3.7 or any of the other variations as much but its fun. Demigod is a decent remake of it, if you overlook the stupid design issues lol.
I dont have war3 installed yet but I'd play a game or two on Undead, I love playing SR.
Sadly I work will 12a tonight and tomorrow :(

I figure we should exchange b-net handles so we can all play together. Mine is SheriffPony.

Would like to remind peeps that phlorph and forums is never going away - we might change games or something like forum software in the future, but I will always have a forum system setup.
ie - feel free to use these forums as a connector spot for gaming. It was always my goal to provide a fun non-bs place for people to connect up and game. Don't think that these forums are just for TF2.
I tend to not like to create new forums for people unless it warrants it. Suggestions are welcome.
I run www.divinelegends.com (http://www.divinelegends.com) and more importantly community.divinelegend.com (which was my euro eq1 guild) for over 10 years now which has 2k people and over 70k posts on it - and ironically I decided to wipe and restart it over about 5 years ago - it was over 6k users and 200k posts (alot of the users were bots though). Phlorph as long as we have participants will stay the same. Having seen so many forums grow and die, I do pride myself a bit on keeping some still around ;)
I'm a strong supporter of "quality" gamers bringing "quality gamers with them. Promoting fun gaming is all I'm about, I don't care what game it is, or even if you talk about other servers. I just want to foster fun gaming without the bs.

dota looks like fun. I'm a lover of rts. What does it take to run it?

All it takes to run dota is a copy of wc3 and frozen throne. Then just the latest dota map and the ability to tolerate the near insurmountable wall of jerks you'll run into while playing pub dota games. If we get enough people to do a 5v5, that would be pretty awesome.

You can run Dota without frozen thorn, at least the good versions :p Theres a ton of good TD's for the game as well. System specs...if you can play tf2 you can max warcraft 3. Im Ripskin I believe on us east

Netbooks can handle WC3...so basically any computer in the last 8 years should be able to handle DotA.
You need to have Frozen Throne to play the most popular version of DotA. However, there are about a billion and one different DotA's, so like Ripskin said you can play DotA with just the original WC3 disc.

Aye, the game peaked at 3.7 IMO. Played it last night, one annoying bug and the community still sucks but fun times.

I'll play TD with pubs, but the DOTA community is horrid. At least the disconnects in Demigod were their retarded net code lol :p

So which do you prefer, crazy new version or good old version :p

I think out of familiarity I have to say the new ones. I am impressed by the simplicity of the old version. It plays well, it's just so weird going from having known only the new version to the old version. Quite a transition.

Yeah, I stopped around 4.1 or something like that because it was becoming WoWDota instead of just a fun quick RTS RPG. I like spending more time fighting and trying to out attack people than trying to combine items and craft things.
They should stop updating the game and leave it as it was. Then release the new type as a separate iteration IMO. The new one has aspects but for me the hard quick playing in the older ones keep me there :D
I really should have gone with a tank class vs weak ranged that game lmao. Was a trick just to stay alive at all lol.

Well since no one was online by time I got on my computer last night I gave Demigod another whirl and found it much improved for the single player. They released the game with some retarded networking setup so it was crap. Even in single player it was not that smooth or good.
The latest update (I have not touched the game in 2 - 3 months) really cleaned it up. I got through almost an entire single player game with 3 normal AI with no real loss in FPS until the end.
I will have to test it out online again and see if its cleaned up any. Its not quite Dota, but it is quite good, especially if they fixed it.

I wonder what that could be...
