I am going to start making a map like hydro, drawing sketches of it right now, it is gunna be a 3 part map, most likely with high buildings city style from now it looks like it will go from ruralish areas to a city my the third stage.
also help is welcomed if you want to talk on aim it's Ernesto00o =)


never mind original idea is back on I'll finish the map then deal with triggers or get someone to help me =)

May I suggest for a name and theme, tc_thefloorislava? Everything is better when the floor is freaking lava!

On second though I am going to start with a CTF map they are the easiest one to make, don't want to skip right in to the hard ones!

Hydro maps are not hard, you just tell CP X is available after CP x is capped.

The hard part is keeping gameplay good and balanced.

It really depends on the style of map. Are you going full Hydro with separate parts for each CP section or like Steel with all points around and you just open / close doors and allow caps after each proper point is open?

The real Hydro style is a little harder, but you just activate and disable spawn points through the random selector for each section. The mapping part is not that hard. The main entity that selects the random mode based on which mode was just played is the only hard part.

These ones are of the red base (the very last red base)


I may add a waterfall there, as a spy with a normal watch you can run through half that hall in one cloak hide in a corner recharge, or there will be ammo packs for the engies to build on the ledge

My only concern is that it looks like it may have too much open space, but its hard to tell from pictures sometimes :)

Still working on it the second part ( the one that is not grassy) will probably have much more things including a furnace that uses lava instead of fire to burn down wood!

and the first one I am thinking of ways to eliminate space I am thinking of recreating Stonehenge :p

Hey Charles, do you happen to have a link to a tutorial/guide you are using for hammer? I used to have a good one, but I couldn't find it again when I looked for it recently(and I forgot all my basic knowledge of hammer somehow).

On a side note I am going to remake all of my map everything is out of portion. Might take a few more days =)

Reds final point will be it
