Almost every other day I sign in the sides are so imballanced that matchess are over in two or three minutes at tops as one team absolutely steamrolls over the other. It isn't fun for either team (moreso for the losers but honestly when I'm on the winning team the accomplishment certainly is gone) and generally causes a lot of people to leave.
As I recall scramble was causing problems with quickswitch but I think a solution needs to be found because itisn't productive at the moment.

I think its not just a problem with the team scrambler, but with the players. If I find I'm on a team that is completely steam rolling the other side I usually switch over to the losing side if there is a slot(which there usually is at the end of a round due to rage quitters). If more people did this I think team balancing would less of a problem. Not to mention if your team is completely dominating you really aren't learning much.

well the problem with that is, when you JUST played a round of defense you don't really want to go BACK and play another round of defense.

I find a lot of the time, the team with the good medics dominates a team without. problem is, very few people like to play medic, and even fewer are good at it.
If I'm on the winning team, then I stop playing medic and work on my achievements or my sniping. Problem is, some of us are fairly effective with any class we choose.

Thats not a bad idea either actually. There are lots of classes I suck at that I could try. (sniper, spy and heavy being my worst ones).

Its not just that, if I notice the unbalance and the team balance has not kicked in I jump over all the time.
What I notice as being the larger issue is people not selecting auto when they join up.
Not always the case but that happens a LOT if you watch since the game tells you what people selected. This does not always lead to unbalance as most of us who play are friends and pretty decent players but other times...
I wonder if there is a different scramble mod or an updated one that might work with quick switch? That was a very weird bug to have because of a shuffle mod...

Yep, I do somethimes join red ( the main stacked team) but most of the time I just auto get my ass handed to me cause really the only reason I play on Phlorph is cause of the community if you guys sucked I'd prolly be playing on some ARG server where my ping is under 100.

i hit auto... but im the first one on the server after a map change which puts me as red(which i usually am for some reason, though i only have a e8500 and 4gb ddr2 1066....)

I also always push "Auto", even though I'm the first or third guy in . . .

i was on red last night and we were rolling blue as usual, blue got their shit together and pushed through us and capped the points, it turned out to be an awesome challenging round for both teams.
i do agree that a shuffle option should be available and is needed sometimes, but it too can be abused, i think teams were shuffled 3 or 4 times in 5 mins during a badlands map when voteshuffle, or whatever it was, was active and that also gets annoying.
i also agree with satan's point, i don't want to move my ass around all night and play defense round after round just to try to keep things "fair"

Agreed, shuffle should be admin only IMO.
When a team gets it together after a round of being stomped I enjoy those, even if I lose. Its when people are AFK or just screwing around / doing nothing and the other team just walks over them time and time again that the server empties pretty quickly.

Admin only I think would be fine, we generally have at least one on at a time\ so it will be available.

I'll put shuffle back in soon - valve switched around placement of things in the patch and alot of the mods need to be adjusted

Thanks for heeding the crowd Zervun. The masses have been grumpy about admins not scrambling during reamings. Things were easier to manage when you could snap the teams up.

What I am hearing from you when you defend yourself is that you really arent playing rs. Then why be in a clan? If you want to be in the clan, then all you have to do is show up to an event. How hard is it to show up to event when you are on IRC, or even plan on doing an event a week out, when most are posted.

Ya it would be awesome if valve actually let developers know pre-hand what their changes to the offsets are going to be. Unfortunately they have their heads so far up their asses, that anytime a update comes out it breaks everything.
Being the fact that I'm a linux/unix/scripting guru, I can usually recover things within about 24 hours, but recently their patches have cause about a week of fucked-up-ness.
This is also highly dependent on sourcemod deveoplers fixing things mainly analyzing offsets. I appreciate those guys so much, they really have a thankless job.
Bottom line is Valve fucks everyone because they don't work with the developer community AT ALL.
Also their *nix support is nill, ironically because the majority of "stand alone servers" run nix. IE not shared hosting. NS did a test way back when, and it was like 60%.

Scramble is nice, doesn't always work as well as players not trying to stack teams. Such as the Douche couple of Enzo and Yoshi.
When teams are stacked if a few could go spec and jump across it would be nice but not enough people pay attention to it.
Thanks Z!

Scramble would be nice but seems every update slide the server further backwards. I guess the list would be.
1. Reserve slots
2. Scramble
3. Stalker Filter
4. American Inch to Merely Canadian Metric Converter
5. Voice audio hum supressor

Arnold that list is AWESOME!
Do you really think we could ever create a converter that could handle 5 American Inches?
