Duel_duel1 - very basic arena map
cp_arena_v6 - fun team arena map
cp_king_of_the_hill_b1 - duh
cp_420_orange_run_v1 - good orange series map, great for people with shitty computers
You should remove boxkiller becuase the map is horrible

Maps will download extremely fast on this server. The server actually re-directs you to a fast file server.
Thank Zervun!

You will be more than welcome to download maps from another server though - as it saves on my bandwidth

the map cp_stronghold_b5 looks pretty interesting. I didnt see cp_420_orange_run_v1 or cp_arena_v6 available on fps banana

those classic maps sound like they're worth giving a try. Without conc jumps it'll be a completly different game style in a familiar enviroment.
I want ROCK!!
I'm surprised noone has made that one yet. It was a great map in quake tf and in tf classic.
Probably be even better than the classic version because, again, people couldn't just conc jump across the courtyard.

As mentioned, rock would be awesome if it we're out. Classic maps are always a nice trip down memory lane.

Having not played these classics the memory lane is more like camp fest of faggotry. Not exactly a major fan of the original well or the other orig's we have either. I would like to see warpath added to the rotation though, really a good map.

Hello All,
Thanks for a great server...it's nearly perfect! :)
It'd be great to have CTF Battlecreek (http://tf2mapzone.com/download.php?view.62) added...it's an awesome map. And since I'm making requests :-P...I'd like to see CTF Vintage 2fort5r removed...every time it's come up, everybody complains...it seems like a pretty pointless map to me.
Anyway, thanks again.

Battlecreek is just a sniper and camping map, theres little if anything fun about it.
And there is a reskined classic 2fort, just hasnt been loaded by the management.

I think we should get cp_420_crazed_arena_v2
unless we have it but if we do i think we should play on it more.

I think one or two custom maps in the rotation, while swapping one of the custom maps for a new custom map every week would be cool. I haven't played many of them, but there are some good looking ones out there.

I've got about 15 custom maps on the server, and the download is fast, the only issue is keeping people on when the custom map comes up, usually the population drops

I've got most of these in the maplist, none in rotation - going to fix the RTV plugin today so it works
if maps are missing let me know

what is the name of the custom map you have in rotation which has some sort of turbines in the center point and you can drop down from the vent system right into the intel rooms? it loaded last night and seemed ok (though very easy to take out sgs from a distance).
also, I found map voting didn't work last night.

HallofDeath (http://www.fpsbanana.com/mirrors/startdl/2431?path=http://www.clan-2g.com/maps/91/ctf_hallofdeath§ionid=714609&ext=zip) is a great small CTF map. It's fun if you have a large or small number of players.

Bump. Basically. I'll add a few maps I've think could be worth looking in to.
I've played this map before. Had some fun on it. Good for all classes with sniper posts, elevators, engineer base points and some underground for close-up fighting as well. (http://www.ozfortress.com/maps/TF2/ctf_mach3)
Haven't played this map, but it looks pretty unique and could be some fun. (http://www.ozfortress.com/maps/TF2/ctf_stronghold_b5)
Another fun one. It's taken from an old HL2/CTF test map. (http://www.ozfortress.com/maps/TF2/tc_overwatch_b2)

The newest version of Stronghold is fun, the only thing I don't like about it is you can't change class in the spawn point without dying, like in LazyTown.
Mach3 is an improvement over Mach2 and i love it! It's a lot more polished.
I've never tried overwatch, but always willing to try something new.
Note: Puppy it would be helpful if you posted the name of the maps with the links. But overall those are great suggestions.

Maybe the old warpath that had resupply closets in the little safe rooms? It sucks just having small health and small ammo.

yea seriously, the old wp was better... you can't die at the small health anyway so it just encourages you to sit around and wait for it to respawn

I like the fact that the middle doesn't have resupply closets on warpath because before if you got the middle you HAD the middle. This way it's harder to hold on to.

Well, we won't be going back to the old warpath anyway mainly because the "release" version has quite a few bug fixes from the old one.
I will be putting mach3 into the choices today.

I used to love warpath before it became something we played every other round, not to mention always lasting forever since unless one team sucks no one ever wins.
I'm probably the only one but I miss the old map cycle. I miss granary, well, and the other good normal maps that don't ever get played because people vote: warpath, 2fort, gravel pit, back to warpath and repeat. Once in a while hydro wins (I don't know why, no one seems to like it). I've actually started to like hydro now because it's one of the maps we don't play constantly.
Meh.. it's probably my fault for just playing too often :P

I know what you mean. Last night I was voting for granary and wells just because they haven't become the constant map choices. But I think that's just because we play so much like you said and not something Zervun is doing wrong. Zervun said he wants to go to more than one server and at that point there will be one standard server and a custom map server, which would be nice. I guess we'll just have to wait to see what happens.

This might have been changed already since it was mentioned in-game last week: The Dustbowl time limit is not long enough to allow sides to swap unless one team gets steamrolled or shut out. It would be nice to give both sides a chance to attack and defend.
Also, Labour seems to drop the player count significantly. Today I saw the server population drop by about half after the map change. I do enjoy the map but I enjoy a full server more.

Once the regulars realize the server's bloody "Invalid Steam ID" has been fixed you should see a lot more players on. Give it a few days before making hasty decisions.

February 4th, 2008, 08:31 AM
I "might" pull out 1 or two of the custom maps for a few days, it should really start filling up now that everything is fixed.

February 4th, 2008, 12:58 PM
well, even tho the steam ID ticket error is... mostly... fixed (as in i got it once yesterday and then not again), its not entirely... Most people of course, including me, will just rejoin at this point, but just to warn you that it still appears to be an issue. I'm sort of unsure as to if its phlorph or its steam (I have not seen it on any other servers). But phlorph will fill either way, as long as its worth it to play (as long as we can stay long enough to play) :D
Zervun
February 4th, 2008, 01:30 PM
If you are still having the steam ticket id error, delete your clientregsitry.blob file - your clientregistry.blob file could have been corrupted a tad when the server was having issues.
Can one of you that is having that issue, delete your blob file and let me know if it happens to you again?
MikeL
February 4th, 2008, 01:45 PM
Well, someone will probably get to it before me (I can't play until several hours from now) but if I get a chance to, I'll try both with and without my clientregistry.blob.

February 4th, 2008, 01:51 PM

I didn't touch clientregistry.blob, either.
