Thrusday this week I found out that my mom had passed away the previous night. She had a heart attack a year ago around Thanksgiving and had a stint put in her artery and had really bounced back to a great degree. She had another on Wednesday night and was gone in moments.
She was 61 and living alone, a full time nurse and a great lady and grandma. Over the last year she had fully recovered and done good things. She had gone with friends to Disney World and even rooked me into bowling in a league with her hospital co-workers (which I enjoyed immeasurably). She even placed 1st place in the North Bend city tournament we bowled together in last month (she bowled a 710 series).
After getting this shocking news I came home that evening and logged on after the dust had settled and played a little while and was able to place the reality of it all on hold. Phlorph and all you that make it were able to help me take a breath in an event that is one of the hardest an oldest son can ever experience.
Karen and I might be around a little less in the next week or so but we will be thinking of you all and hope you can think about us a little too. We will return soon. Thanks.
