Just finished watching a half hour show on Space network about the movie. Lots of positive comments from all involved, of course, they have to say that, but also from the creator of the comic book which seemed genuine so I'm looking forward to seeing it. Lots of green screens, of course, but also a lot of hand crafted sets (multiple city blocks etc). Lot of work went into it.
Never heard of the comic book till now so I won't be disappointed by story-line changes.
I'll wait a month though so I'm not stuck in a crowded room with poor ventilation. Hopefully I can avoid any spoilers before then.

yeah i would love to see it, but I don't want to be around a ton of people. I'm going to use my free movie tickets to go see it in a couple weeks.

I saw it today, it was pretty good. The ending was different from the comic, but it was still good.
And yes, there was junk-a-swaying.

Cool, there were some bad reviews so I was getting worried (afterall, Spirit absolutely blew) but would see it nonetheless. I'll likely go see it next weekend.

I was extremely pleased with the paralells, messages and cynematic story telling. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
One of the best movie intro's ever. Shoulda cut some of the pointless gore and some of the nudity was not really needed for the story to expand but eh.

The gore was a must, the wang...not so much. The few boobs integral to the plot. Overall a good flick, big screen worthy.

I dont mind some gore but in jail it was not really needed. When they were going in the back story on Rorschach it worked.
I didnt mind the sex scene either, but it was not really needed to be either that long or that "graphic". Would rather watch a porno for that.
Blue wang was not up that much, although it was all my wife keept looking at but she is a woman. Whats your excuse.....:D

I felt bad for Crudup, you would have thought they would use something so it didn't look like he had shrinkage all the time.

well the first half, which was really accurate with the comic was great, but when they started re-arranging and changing the story i was just let down. Either make a movie that's true to what you're basing it after or make a movie loosely based on it, don't reel someone in with one and then switch and let them down.

I heard it was lock step with the comic, that the director used the comic for the story board. Not so?
Full Disclosure:I haven't read the comic.

Still haven't seen it but I heard it was pretty close to the comic besides the ending (different execution, same result...trying to keep it as spoiler-free as possible), which they changed because they thought viewers who hadn't read the comic would have been kinda confused as it does kinda seem outlandish if you don't have some of the minor plotlines that they had to cut out due to time restraints.
I'm waiting for the Blu-Ray to come out as it will hopefully integrate the "Tales of the Black Freight" storyline into the actual movie...even if it ends up being like 4 hours long that way :)

I can see your reasoning behind that. However with the length of the comic they would have had to split it into two movies to make it work like that. They were not sure if it would be as popular as it is so they only made it as one long film. While the changes are there overall they dont take away from it too much and work well in the film.
I have not read all of the comic but have perused through it. Adapting it straight from the pages to the film it would fail, and fail hard. Same with any film adaptation from a book or comic.
I went into it not sure what to expect but left the comic behind knowing it would not be able to follow it perfectly and I think thats why I enjoyed it so much.
I cannot wait to get it on Blu Ray, I just hope they dont get some cheap compression and ruin it.

well they followed the comic perfect for a little over half the movie, and that's what I loved. I was really pleased with it but then they drastically started re-arranging and changing. Like I said before they should make up their mind which they're going to do.

Fantastic movie, I'm reading the comic now and generally most of the changes affect very little. Honestly I'd say its my favorite comic book movie now (above Dark Knight). Execution was fantastic as was the direction. Some have comploained that the story is fragmented but I think it's just as much about the introspective of the characters as it is the overall plot so it has to focus on each one individually for a bit.
That and there is far more material in the comic than could fit into the time alotted for a reasonable film.
