It's an interesting article about what makes TF2 feel so different than other FPS gamers. Looking at some of the comments he seems to be taking his fair amount of flack for some his unscientific approach to things.
Speaking personally I have been out of the gaming scene for a quite a while and I'm sure many claim this but TF2 is really what did bring me back. I started playing CS since its early 1.3 days and spent countless hours on it, helped to build a very strong CS community and helped admin a very successful server (full 24 hours a day). At a point, life just caught up with me(by life I mean school) and I dropped from gaming. I was especially disappointing by all the WWII shooters, that to me, looked all the same. No offense to those who enjoy the genre.
Oddly enough, I enjoyed reading about games and when I caught the trailer for TF2 I knew I had to get it. I was a fan of TFC because of the variety of weapons and the unique graphics really caught my eye. To keep it short, I bought a new computer, logged into my very very old steam account and picked up TF2 and couldn't be happier. Hope this game has the kinda legs like TFC did.
