Hey, so I play with you all quite often but have never been to the forums before. I came to ask what the official rule on playing music over the mic is. Some of you may have heard sweet banjo music playing and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't walking on thin ice. I believe my buddy was banned for mic spamming, but maybe it was something different. He will likely post here in a while.

Yeah... It was a small game (2v3 I think) and I played "I don't wanna wait" the Dawsons Creek theme song.. (Don't laugh, I got it for the lulz : ) and I played it twice (Only about 5 seconds of it) and I was banned with the reason Other with NO verbal warning.

Most servers I have played one would have gave you some type of warning, verbal, private message, anything, before banning you. I thought it would be okay to play small clips because, as Banjo said, he plays his banjo clip and nothing happens to him, but I play a even shorter clip and get banned? I like to play on your server, good players, good rotation, fair (possibly :P) admins, and my ping..

Edit- My main reason for getting "I don't wanna wait" for when I die and theirs the 20 second respawn time I play it and makes me feel good inside... :O

Mic spam is excrutiatingly annoying especially with all talk, which our server has 24/7.

Noone wants to listen to a Dawson's Creek song every time you die.

I am posting a ban instructions thread here shortly, but you are responsible for contacting the admin that banned you and discussing your ban with him.

Again, no warning from him so I don't know who did it. The thing is, I played it twice... less than 5 seconds for both of them.. as I said in my first post

You have a better chance of finding out who it was anyway, look at logs.

Usually just give admins a heads up before you play some something. That way you know it's safe. Sometimes people just aren't in the mood, for one reason or the other.

lol. I hear music and boom muted. Too many do it and I disable all audio to conserve my precious bandwidth :o
