PS3 would be an awesome console, along with the Wii, it's just the lack of games. MGS4 is awesome, but I need some more variety! Most games that were once "PS3 exclusives" are not coming out for the Xbox 360 soon, so it almost makes it not worth it. If game developers weren't so scared to make innovative and fun games (such as Little Big Planet) then the PS3 would be awesome. The same goes for the Wii.

I like that you don't have to pay to play online. I don't like that the downloadable content isn't being expanded by the game developers like it is on the xbox, biased fucktards. I know that there are some xbox games that are xbox only, but they are starting to resolve this too, I dont predict gears of war being released for us anytime soon but bioshock is coming out this month, too bad I'm getting a new computer so I'll just play it on that haha

What innovative and fun games does the Xbox have? I can't think of any off the top of my head, besides maybe Beautiful Katamari, which is basically a continuation of the PS2 series from what I've seen. There's quite a few innovative and fun downloadable games that the Playstation Network has that Xbox Live doesn't have. While the PS Network doesn't have the quantity of Xbox Live, it does have some quality games.

And referring to exclusives, yes the PS3 lost a few games to exclusivity (notably Final Fantasy 13), it's not like Xbox has a big list of Exclusives. Fable, Halo, Gears of War, and some Japanese RPGs? I'll take LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Resistance 2 (which is coming out basically the same week as Gears of War, I'm interested to see what kind of ratings get).

In the end, most GOOD games are available to both consoles, and due to this, I'd personally pick the PS3 over Xbox, due to the Playstation Network, the Blu-ray player, and the ease of switching hard drives. Since you don't have to be confined to a specific hard drive like with the Xbox, you are free to upgrade to a much larger harddrive cheap and easy! I have a 320gb hard drive in mine and love it.

I've played the beta of LittleBigPlanet, it's quite fun and definitely original. However, it's kinda scary to think that the quality of the game is completely up to the mapmakers. If it gets a big enough community, it could potentially be a huge hit. As corny as it sounds, the only limits really are your imagination. Some guy made a working addition/subtraction calculator in one level. It took over 1500 objects (the majority of them behind the scenes that you don't see) to make it a work. I couldn't even think of where to begin to make something like in a game. It's pretty insane to think how he got it to work with the type of things they let you use to create levels. And that's just in the limited time the beta has been available. It's like Garry's Mod times a million.

Hah, great to see if it'll come out for XBOX360. I've been a student and will be finished school very soon, I had to sell my xbox just to be able to pay for parking throughout the year. Now that I have the time to work I'll be buying one back, but I may just wait a while depending on LA Noire's exclusivity. If that is indeed a word.

I'm a sucker for anything of the detective noir, stuff from 1930 to late 50's fascinates me. To have it in a game is all the better. The last game I played with the detective feel was Max Payne 2. Blew my mind. Loved Bioshock for the nostalgic art deco environments. And I would have liked to go through Mafia, but it was a really slow game and I have yet to finish it. Do you guys know of anything else like these games?

Having just finished an animation course, and having many programmer friends I will note one thing I haven't heard of on the PS3. The ability to make arcade games. The online community for developing xbl arcade games is huge, and the XNA framework is supposed to be easy to understand and use. This is a big thing for someone like me.

Yep, you're right. It's free to play Call of Duty 4 with 1000 on the playstation, or for $5/month, you can play with a million on Xbox.

I'd buy a PS3 in a second as a blu-ray player, but if you want games, xbox is where it's at.

the community on ps3 is just as good as xbox 360, either way you're going to find full servers on the games you like to play. I bought the games, that should be enough, why should I have to pay more to continue enjoying them?

I bought my 360 for Halo 3. Period. To me personally it was worth every penny. Some might call me a Halo fanboi but I could give a shit less about the "Halo-ness" of Halo. I just think it has one of the best combinations of engine and game mechanics ever. It's the competition and difficulty that I like; playing with my 3 good friends with which I've played just about every video game ever made is incredibly satisfying because situational awareness, agility and accuracy matter much more than what weapon you have.

It's like Soul Caliber 2; we played it so much that it was more a battle of will than about who knew more moves.

Yeah, my 360 did have some problems, it didn't play Halo 3 for 6 months due to disc read errors, but a console update from XBL fixed that.

PS3 I think is finally coming into the real meat of its game selection. I will buy a PS3 for Gran Tourismo 5 once I have a proper display on which to enjoy it.
