QuakeCon 2008

While I know I will most likely be the only one from here there I shall post some pictures in here. Going to be a great event, seen some pictures of the Wolfenstein booth and hopefully they will have some goodies from that :o I also hope Valve are there with Left 4 Dead again, last year that was fun to play :eek:

After my test tomorrow I will be heading down to its local, hopefully I'll get some pics up soon after I set up.

Well the vender area is much better this year than the last few years, however I think DLP had the best showing. Wasnt much, just two people playing Quake Wars ET on the same 60 inch DLP.

The catch? Each player had the entire screen to themselves....

Achieved by the TV's 120 mhz frequency, they used 3d glasses to filter out 60mhz for each player on the screen, change your glasses reciever over and you can be first or second player, very cool stuff. Just watching the screen is a little weird since you see both players as ghosting images.

I took a pic and will post either after the event is over or tonight depending on when I get home for sleep....

Is also rather humerous how few of these people must see women in the wild...a few booth "babes" and everyone wants to touch them lol...

wow that sounds badass, I wish my tv was fancy enough for dual gaming at once! though it is still awesome even without, I have no problem making everyone else watch haha

I played with it a while ago, and it was weird, but very cool. My DLP is 1080p but I dont think its frequency is that high so it wouldnt work, however I wouldnt want it anyway, just really neat tech :p

if I can find it a group of guys showed up as the Engie, Spy, Medic, and Scout, looked pretty good, medic even had a medigun which was neat.

This is the side door near where the last image was taken. Thats one of the stages for raffles and other events. The main stuff took place a ball room elsewhere in the hotel.

This is that sweet DLP setup I mentioned earlier, you can see both images on the screen. Put the 3d glasses on and select which HTZ response you want to see for player 1 or 2 and you have the whole screen perfectly to your self, pretty spiffy.

Someone had build a house out of lego and built the computer into that, was pretty neat. Another guy stole a newspaper stand and build his computer into that lol, was weird. The paper slot folded down refealing mouse and KB with monitor that came into place with it.

Great photos. A few clan mates of mine (Kazeio and Zangetsu and a few others) went to fragapolooza. The giant lan was in Alberta and FPS Doug showed up, and about half the crowd dropped a brick. It's still going on and they're having TF2 tournaments. Sounds fun, except trying to sleep while people are playing the penis game, marco polo, and over various crowd games.

All I did was go to the crawfish festival and watch some druggie get arrested.
