I've really tweaked the server as of late. As of friday has anyone seen any lag?

For the little bit I was on Friday afternoon it seemed fine to me.

Last night around 7pm pst it got to a point where I found it unplayable. Logged off for a meal and went back on and it was fine, I wondered if there may have been a few high pingers that were dragging it down. That was the first time I have ever seen any lag.

What Cobra said. We all experienced it. I didn't note the time, but that sounds aboot right.

Which made me notice another thing....the auto boot for 200+ pings seems to not be working right now.

I wonder if it's the high pingers that is screwing it up - I'll put the high pinger plugin back in tonight

well I installed the high ping kicker again, it seems to be messed up though so I removed it

I was just on and I was experiencing lag, my loss would jump between 0 and 25, and my choke would stay in the twenties. I eventually got kicked because my choke was too high

hrm maybe the plugin was fucking stuff up I have removed it

The lag was pretty bad again Sunday around 6:00pm.

Zervun

seems it happens around the same time -

I think it's due to the update sourcemod might have a mem leak

I've removed some plugins though and seeing if it works out

getting some lag spikes randomly but it seems to be good as of last night. loss was at a minimum but choke was jump into the twenties which isn't too normal

Worry
November 12th, 2007, 02:31 PM
lots of lag spikes again last night (midnightish). At some points, I would completly freeze up for 5 seconds or so. At one point I did not notice a freeze up, but was suddenly just be dead and a heavy was walking away from me. If a heavy can sneak up on me, kill me, and move away before I even see him....that's not good.

Found out what it was, my datacenter had not yet removed the 1.5Mbps cap for 95th percentile instead so we were capping the connection

This should be fixed in a few hours, I am still changing the procs for the better ones though

They were probably just saying that to explain why you were dominating them.

bah. My ping has gone from the 50's to the 120+ range and whatever it is that causes me to see everyone teleporting all over the place (packet loss? choke?) is really gone bad too. Worse than it was a few days ago. Pretty much unplayable for me.

Probably just a temp thing, but thought I should post it to see if others have the problem.

Time: tonight, 5 - 6:30pm

I think the cogent nodes are quite fast as they are a fiber backbone so its basically the connection between your network and cogent or cogent and phlorph... though it seems that connection is quite snappy.

my wireless router gives me about 12ms latency (hop #2)

Worry, your latency to cogent seems quite high...

Yes they are fiber and they arent fast because your average ping is DOUBLE going thru their crapass network.
