This guy was very much invisible. I don't know if it was a bug on my end, an exploit, or a hack. He was on my team so this is not just a pissy post about someone that was killing me too much. However, there may have been others in the server using this expoit/bug/hack/whatever.

Did you ever alt-tab out of your game. TF2 has a persistent bug where if you alt-tab or minimize TF2, when you return some of the graphics get screwed up including making players invisible. To fix it you:
1. open the console and type "record <filename>" where filename is anything you want to call it.
2. After the demo recording begins type "stop".
This starts a demo recording that will refresh all of the graphics. Next time you see this follow the instructions above and if he is still invisible then something else is definitely wrong.

I'll give that a try, though I had not minimized the game at all. It may be worth noting that there were many of the same symptoms described in the thread you just started, like bullets coming out of walls and people in areas they should not be. Also, lots of the opposing team were calling hax. One of them was a whiny bitch, though, so I didn't put too much stock in it.

Yup if you guys suspect something do a record and get it to one of the admins, also collect said person's steam id

On another note I have applied for steambans and will be putting it on the server when we get a approval back from them for our server.

How does steamban work?

it is basically like VAC except it is from user submitted demos that they review and have a ban list associated with it. It obviously won't catch hackers at the time they are hacking, but they might not have been able to get on the server in the first place due to them being on the ban list.
I'm also looking into a plugin called detox

So why do you need approval to use it?

You must submit your "site" as a valid "team" to them. I think they want to make sure that you are doing something legitimate. There are a few requirements for it.
here is the page for it

I just want to say that it is refreshing to play on a server with such an active admin.
I also saw the invisibleness, and I didn't Alt-Tab at all.
Is it just me or has the server been a lot more active lately with people that aren't the top 50, or even ranked? Every time I jump on now it's names I've never seen before and people are playing well and it's always fun. If the server is getting more popular that's great!

Ya server has picked up popularity which is nice - thanks for the compliments, I couldn't do it without my other admins policeing the server also - we have some very active admins on there all the time making sure people are minding their P's and Q's
