Team Fortress 2 now offically confirmed for WORLD OF TEAMFORTRESSCRAFT 2

Jokes aside, I'll give Valve credit for sharing a portion of sales with the creators of player-created content. That's definitely a neat idea, and rewards creative individuals that provide content for their game. But at the same time, I feel like it's just Valve cashing in more on their franchise.

Guess I'm glad I don't touch this game anymore.
Can NS2 be out yet? :(

It is a really good way to launch the Steam Wallet though. Not something I want, but it can definitely have it's uses. It also isn't blatantly Valve earning money, it is just mostly Valve earning money.

Whether or not you touch TF2, this is still happening.
Also, most companies would have left TF2 for dead. How old is this game? How much is it still being supported? That is still pretty neat, even if you have to pay to get things right away instead of crafting/finding/unlocking them like regular, if that is what you want.

Yeah it might seem bad at first, BUT, you can still get everything (for now anyways) through drops and crafting, so buying is just for the rich ppl who just want every item without playing the game. So it's not bad, I guess Valve gotta make some money off their original $20 game after supporting it for 3+ years, they basically made a whole new game from release.

As long as things can be had the old fashioned way I am on board with it. The pricing does not seem that outlandish and giving some to the creators is nice.

Its a novel approach to a bad situation. But I would still want the self satisfaction of finding and crafting my sniper hat collection.

It doesn't bother me except for the set items that give bonuses that depend on hats. Hats are hard to get.

Also, a +25 health bonus for scout that you get with a hat is retarded.

I don't like the set bonuses. It is basically giving stats to a hat, something that was supposed to be purely cosmetic.

Me and Shazam were talkin about it yesterday, it's pretty cool that they still care for TF2. I mean I won't be buying any of this but when I was totally into TF2 and played competitively I woulda boughten some stuff. The whole Orange Box costed less than Starcraft 2 and there is still 2 expansions that I'm probably going to buy. I'm not mad at Valve for wanting to make some money from TF2 and they are really awesome for doing all they do.

I can already see players bad mouthing other players that buy items, it does kind of get on my nerves when people bad mouth on other people I mean it's their money they can do what they want with it. Though it might stem from other players not have the money to buy items so they get mad at other for having money? I don't know but whatever, also I think in the future TF2 will become an RTS-FPS-Hat sim, any genre of game ever made is what TF2 will be haha!

Edit: I caved..... TF2 is a lot funner now, competitive will be a nightmare if they allow all these items.

Apparently there will be items that can only be purchased via the Mann-co store, however they're purely cosmetic from the sounds of it. Set items are stupid, the hat system was stupid, and essentially giving hats stats is stupid. Honestly the only redeeming part to the system is allowing players the ability to create content and have other players buy that content, and then receive a pittance for their work. I think that should really encourage more community interaction with the game, something most games are sorely lacking.
So I applaud Valve for that, kudos Valve.
Now make your game fun again, please? :(

And there we have it, the final words that mattered!

Hmm, I did not know some of the items gave such a buff... that is stupid and screw's with the already precarious balancing. Oh well. Still fun to play given the right server. Last night with Meat and Levi was pretty enjoyable :)

I just want to assume you're trolling.

As for Arnold, I think most people are on to start up games, last I heard from Pony, he said Phlorph was down, which was too bad because I was hankerin' some TF2 that day.

I'm down for some TF2 with everyone though, as long as we try to keep teams fairly balanced it's usually fun.

I play when I can, since switching to mornings and management my free time is very little so I do not get to play much during the week usually. But Friday / Saturday nights I usually play on whatever Mental / Levi / Meat are playing on :)

On the contrary, its perhaps the best update Valve has given us since the games release. There's some grumbling about the changes to Bonk, but I haven't seen or heard any issues at all.

Me and Green Meat routinely play on another great server (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tehhoods). If you just speak up, Arnold we totally meet you at Phlorph.

I'm usually up to playing if I'm not too busy with homework. On most nights, that means after 4pm if I don't have some project or something going down.

If someone asks me to play phlorph and I'm not busy I'm down.

Most of the time there is a TF2 update - and I don't know it.

Valve has still been UTTERLY HORRIBLE on making it easy to update the server and keep mods in tact unless you are on top of it 24/7.

Now that things are cooling down I'm going to pay more attention but phlorph needs a refresh as we are using a quite older sourcemod which I will be doing soon. The amount of work in that is a metric ton and with my long hours, and last week I was in baltimore for a conference I haven't had the time/motivation.

I say its a good time too jump back into the game. For the most part with the new weapons everyone is on equal footing.
