I'd like to open this back up with a new Map Thread request.
Which ones would you like to see?
Which ones would you like to see in the rotation?

Don't know about the rotation but like someone said last night, custom maps at times clear out a server. We had a pretty good balance with Warpath in the mix as well as Turbine.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of these maps on the server. I've played most of them on random servers with mediocre players, so I don't know how they will turn out with good players.
cp_beach_final - Non-symetrical, blue tries to take reds base.
ctf_convey_v2 - I've had fun pretty much every time I've played this map.
pu_jinxed_b2 - Intel starts in the middle, and you must put it into enemy base.
ctf_quarry_v2
cp_science - I like this one, its challenging
cp_overflow_b3
ccp_circlejerk_rc1 - cp's arranged in a diamond, and you must capture clockwise(or the otherway, I forget)

hey can you try to get 2fort full? its 2fort, but with no glass or anything in the way of the background you see. for example, in the intel room, you can go where that huge screen and many chairs are

I think the current version is cp_steel_b4.
A few more maps that I think might be fun are:
cp_junction_v2 <-- I liked this one, fun attack/defend map.
pl_dustbowl_b3 <-- dustbowl turned into a cart map, haven't played it, but was rated high.
cp_corporation_b2 <-- I think some people may not like it, but I had fun on it. 3 stage attack/defend map.
ctf_respect-b4 <-- a small ctf map. Lots of face paced fun.

I have run into a lot of times when an admin is unavailable so making the unusual maps available from rtv or nominate is greatly appreciated. I'll look around for some maps that I have played on the custom maps servers.
dam and ?toyhouse? are a couple that seem kinda fun but I haven't played alot. Oh touchdown is a fun break up the seriousness too.

pl dustbowl b3 is in, I'm waiting until later today to throw the rest on, when the stats reset - currently hlstatsx is having issues
I will be making it so that reserves can do a mapvote probably once a day or something havn't decided yet

Awesome idea to let reserves do a map vote. I wasn't going to bother asking for a slot but since this honor might come with it I'll have to pop on over ans give it a shot.

both of those maps are already in (not in map cycle but admin can change it to it)
my main thing is that when a custom map hits, it empties half the server a lot of the time - hense why alot are not in the rotation

Would it be possible to update the nominate list with all of the custom maps? Then when we rock the vote it would be possible to play a custom map without an admin being present. Presently the nominate function only has the maps that are currently in rotation, so this would allow for custom maps to be chosen and voted on by everyone in the server.

I've noticed a few people have been bugged by the map rotation setup. The voting part is excellent, but the map selection is the problem. Personally, if possible, I would have all the standard maps voteable through the nominate feature.(Does this also apply to the main vote?) Also, it would be nice if some customs were selectable, such as Warpath and Mach 4. I don't really know what else you could throw on there. Maybe Cp_Steel or something. Just an idea.

They are two different plugins so I'll have to check to make sure how they work and fix it.
I'm all for more/custom maps. It just seems that the server gets cleared on them frequently when they come up.

Please put tc_hydro back in rotation or at least on the votemap list. I have the second most time on server and the admins are diminished lately and when they are on hydro gets a good response. If it can pass a vote it shouldn't kill the server. Also if alltalk could be added as a votealltalk that would be great also as clique of us play when no admin is around and would like to have the all talk option. Just asking :).

I wouldnt mind seeing Grainery put back in the vote list either, I havnt played on many servers aside from Phlorph in a long time and I miss that good map.

Good map, my question, did they fix the ladder issues over the destructable cp3 yard entrance? It used to just teleport you to the top which was really disorienting and weird in fights.

Seriously the new warpath is cunting beautiful! Bankjob crashed the server, science is very fun but needs more people than what we had available, we only got to play the first two parts of pl dustbowl but it looked better so far. I didnt get to check out this version of castle yet but i hope its the one i played on before

I think the old warpath is better made and better looking. New one has some texture alignment issues and is not as "polished" IMO. And the barrals in the yard are bloody annoying lol.

Sucks about bank job, didn't get to even try the thing. Now if only we could do away with two fort - god I'm sick of that map.

The barrels add another route that players can exit the tunnel, so snipers have three paths to cover instead of just two.

Well the new dustbowl had some bug fixes as well, Defense can no longer go into the grates from the outside, and some other bug fixes.
The new ladder's are annoying, I dont like the textures as much, and those barrels are bad :p
I dont mind them much with regards to another area to cover, I mind it since its such a view blocker. Makes me more vulnerable, and on offense as a non sniper class I found it the same. Changes the flow of warpath too much IMO.
The version that had the covered bridge was decent, didnt change the flow too much and it made sniping from the upper path out a little harder which is good for the offense.

It's older than warpath 2 I believe, didnt like it as much as the version Phlorph had but it was pretty interesting, building SG's on its roof and stuff, made 3 a little more crazy lol. It also gave some cover for those on the bridge since the posts would hinder sniper shots ontop of people walking infront of the shots. Gave demo's more places to plant stickies though.

As per Satan's suggestion, I'll post some map suggestions for the next update. :)
CP_Mini_Canyon- This is a small 3 points CP map with a twist. When one team captures all 3 points, the opposing team's intelligence room opens up, and the team with 3 points has five minutes to capture it. Its a fairly intense map with the battleground around the middle point being similar to the cp_badlands middle point, but on mini_canyon it is possible to fall into the "mini_canyon" below the bridge and point. Its been fairly hectic and prone to stalemates when I played it, and requires good teamwork for one team to succeed. It's vaguely reminiscent of the other CP_maps; warpath,badlands.

PL_Hoodoo (various versions, I think B3 is the latest) - This is a typical payload map with 2 stages. Hoodoo actually means something like big ole' rock formations that pop up from the ground, but I don't know for sure. What I do know, is that this is fairly entertaining map. It plays like pl_badwater and pl_goldrush, but like both of those maps, can become rather stale if played too often. I can't think of much else to say about PL_Hoodoo. Its a great map that's on par with official PL maps, but that's about it.

PL_Cranetop (B3 is the latest, I think) - This PL map makes some daring design choices that really make it a lot of fun. First off, the first PL point is not actually by the Payload cart. It is located at the very top of a giant crane, and acts as a regular CP point. However, in this map, this point is used by the offensive team to lower the Payload Cart from the crane by standing on the first point. The rest of level has many places for soldiers and demos to jump to, is fairly open for scouts to jump and run, has a couple tight corners for pyros, and some fairly decent sniping positions for snipers. Unfortunately, every time I play this map I'm wrangled into playing medic, so I haven't had time to explore every nook and cranny, but it seems like there are numerous paths around the first stage that make it accessible for every class. The second stage is fairly claustrophobic, as it takes place underground, but from what I've seen, every class has its strengths and it isn't so small the pyros always dominate. Perhaps one of my favorite maps <3.

PC_Sawmill (B4 being the latest) - This map mixes up the typical Payload map by making you capture CP points to open up the Payload cart's route. The map itself is not that well-designed, but the idea is pretty well executed. I'm hoping for more improvements on this one, it needs a lot more work to be really great. Pretty poopy for now.

CP_Observatory (B4 being the latest, hopefully B5 will be out soon. I haven't talked to the creator lately so idunolol.) - This is a really great CP map that mimics cp_steel in that you don't need to capture every point to take the last. There are 3 points, A on the Left, B on the right, and C in the middle. Capturing A or B opens up C for capture. It plays a bit like Gravelpit with a few twists. B4 had some obvious flaws, but the creator is fairly quick about updates, and he is trying to make B5 the final version. I believe he's just trying to get as much play testing in as possible.
(EDIT) B5 is actually out, I haven't played it yet so I don't know exactly what the changes are. :O

Now if the team with the intel out can stop its capture by reclaiming the nearest control point that would be different. But to run on a 5 min time limit to try to get in there I think will just result in games that go nowhere.

I may have poorly described how the intelligence works on this map (mah bad).
Lemme try this again. The 5 minute timer starts once the third and final point is captured by red/blue. Red/Blue, whichever captures the opposing team's third point, then has 5 minutes to grab the intelligence, and run back to their base. The enemies intelligence is about as far from the third point as the longest part of the courtyard in 2fort(I am horrible with distances, forget I said anything, the best I can manage is that it's pretty close). This being the case, the team that captures the enemy point will swiftly take the intelligence and then either have a quick jog back to their base for the win, or face a re-spawn wave, in which case, your scenario may happen. I've only had a few experiences where the intelligence has successfully been defended, in which time that team had also recaptured the point, making it easier to defend where the intelligence dropped.
The intelligence setup is very dissimilar to other CTF maps, and it isn't what causes the stalemates. Generally, capturing the final point becomes the most arduous task for the team that controls the middle, or the battle over the middle turns it into a cp_miniwarpath. Teehee
EDIT: I withdraw my support for PC_sawmill. Having played it again, I think it needs a lot more work. The idea is neat, the execution, not so much. Some members voiced their interest in a map with this gameplay mechanic, and that is mainly why I brought it up.

Along those same lines...2 more custom map suggestions.
cl_follower (http://www.vilepickle.com/map/screens/tf2_cp_follower/) - M4C suggested this in another thread. It seems like it has a lot of potential. Also, the guy who made the map also made cp_castle (the newer version of this map looks pretty good!), ctf_mach4, and cp_stag among others. Pretty much anything he comes out with is golden. http://www.vilepickle.com/maps for a list of his maps.
cp_waste (http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/85578) - haven't tried this one either, but heard some good reviews on it.
As far as the ones Arnold suggested, I've played hoodoo for a somewhat short amount of time and it definitely looked like it had potential.

That follower map looks pretty interesting, and as a minimum it's a different background scenery from the traditional maps we play on. I would be all for adding it to the server to try.

In addition to the previous suggestions, I was wondering if we could get Badwater Basin back in the voting list instead of junction and/or egypt?
It's a pretty decent map, and it usually seems to get voted in when someone suggests it to an admin. Junction and Egypt seem to get a lot of disapproval and usually quick rtv's out of it.

pl_swift_final: Its a big long cart push that seems pretty well balanced. Normally this is the kind of map I don't like, but its pretty well done. The last point often ends up as a pretty epic battle.

ctf_staging_a11: Techically still in alpha, but I think its at a pretty good state right now. I played this last night and had a lot of fun with it. One of the neat features is each time you capture the intel, the intel moves to another spot and your base gets more paths opened into it. So the intel gets progressively easier to get each time.

Can you please consider adding Badwater? Very fun & balanced map for all classes and playstyles. Most people enjoy it more than gold rush.

Badwater is there, we play it. I prefer Gold rush but its a good map. Dont think its in the rotation but I think its in nominate?

I agree, cp_furnace is a ton of fun. Its almost like gravelpit so phlorph will probably play it to the exclusion of all else. (like gravelpit).
