this friday it appears someone hacked the TF2 instance (I'm guessing) and issued a udp flood thats floating around

my ISP blocked it, we are now on a new IP but I'm going to do more investigation before I bring the server up again.

From what I see it's a new hack, however I'm not sure that is what it was.

My server is seriously locked down - I checked all access logs, nothing out of the normal.

The server went down when we finally had an almost full server (23/24) was fun until that happened. Any clue why people are attacking phlorph? Or is it the host in general?

That stinks, but its comforting to have our best working on it.

Glad your there working on it :D

As laggy said the server was very full for the first time in a while, lots of random players and reg's.

The only thing I noticed prior to it was my latency was over 50ms above my ping, then we all lagged out and dropped. Didnt even get the count down timer from TF2.

No studdering or hangups in the server at all, just the higher latency then boom.

Could one of the players have been using some work around to try and spoof his IP to cheat or something that caused a crash and then worse....? I dunno but the UDP sounds a little odd for how locked down the server is and how instantly it died without warning...

Thanks for the work!

I'll echo Rip's points, but I must report all of the figures on screen assumed two or three positions, floated around on screen, and didn't even change facing . . .

The data centre is obviously haunted, perhaps the restless spirit was once a tragic tf2 player who wanted revenge on all the spies, snipers, scouts etc.
