It seems since the server has moved the custom maps take forever to download off the server. Can this be fixed? Its rough and may be off putting for non-regulars to stick on the server past one map if it goes to something like pl_dustbowl and they don't have it.

Hell, pl_dustbowl alone makes me leave and I've already got it downloaded.

I remember trying to join the map you two were on and he told me to just DL it somewhere else, cant think of the map now though.

I'm not sure what to do about it. I think that steam for whatever reason is throttling it and I can't find any info on how to take it off.
I ran speed tests and the bandwidth on the server is huge. It's pretty much uncapped.

Is the server itself limiting the datarates? I remember having to open those up when I had a few people downloading my map directly from the server...

The physical linux server wouldn't be as I've done transfers off and recieved massive speeds. I'm pretty sure it's some setting within steam/tf2 server and I can't find it.
A test transfer I did the other day was around 50Mbps / 6.25 MBps. Considering that some of the smaller maps aren't even that size thats blazing fast.
Max "theoretical" for a 100baseT connection is around 88Mbps. (I did network speed testing at Intel for a while).

I think TF2 defaults the data rate to like 20kb/s or something which is painful.
But with those numbers the system can more than handle it lol.
