I don't need to be sorting through the long list of games that only work on XP. The steam UE is less than wonderful. As a filter would be an obvious choice, I can only think someone there made the decision not to put one in. I can't think of any good reason why. *grumble grumble. humbug*

I'm not sure what janky means, but I've NEVER been able to properly play FPSes on console. Because FPSes are for PCs.

The only console FPS's I could play and played the hell out of was Goldeneye for the N64.
Perfect Dark was built on the same system and I could play that as well, but did not play it quite as much.

Just an FYI, almost all games that steam hosts will work on xp, vista, and win7

You can also buy, then try and get a refund if it doesn't work.

Thanks zerv, that's good to know. But...well, that doesn't make me feel any better as I did purchase one game that was only listed to work on XP, and it did not work on Vista. Mine wasn't one of the 'almost all'. Lucky me. Been over a year so I doubt they'll refund me now.

I figured it was my own damn fault for not paying attention and would just have to eat the cost. It was clearly listed as 'XP only', so I couldn't see why they would provide a refund. That combined with the standard 'no refund on unsealed games' policy for games purchased in stores in the past and it never even occurred to me that there might be a refund option.

I don't want to take the chance again, even with the refund policy you mention. I'd just prefer a filter. I don't have time to waste testing software compatibility. Unless I'm being paid of course. ;)

They knocked Torchlight even farther down to $5.00 so I couldn't resist. I've heard it's a pretty good Diablo-clone, and I gotta get me something to hold me over until Diablo III gets released in like 5 years.

Bought too many games for my own good. Bought Defense Grid, RIP trilogy, Universe at War, Lumines, Torchlight, Foreign Legions Buckets of Blood, Braid, Broken Sword 2&3, Crash Time 2, R6 Vegas 2 = Total Cost: $34.30 USD

With the CDN rate so high right now, it's only $37 in CDN and best of all, no TAX!!! So I save even more!!! 11 games for less than $40, you can't get that anywhere in B&M stores.
