So a week after I got Halo 3 (launch day) my console started telling me "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console." At first it was just Halo 3, then it was Forza 2, but it has NEVER done it to Oblivion, and now it is to the point that Halo 3 only boots 1 in 25 times, and Forza 2 is about 1 in 5.
Anyone else have this issue?
My games are all fine, they play on my friend's 65nm HDMI 360 (which as a different drive) perfectly every time, so it's obviously my drive.
I feel that by Microsoft totally revamping the hardware in the 360 it is essentially acknowledging that their original design was flawed from the beginning.
I honestly think that over the next four years EVERY 360 made before the 65nm version WILL fail under totally normal conditions.
I just bought a dvd BURNER for only 25 DOLLARS for my computer that is quieter and will last longer than the drive in my 360. How cheap did MS honestly go with all the hardware in this console!? It's 2008 and the media drive, the GATEWAY to my games, has failed in my console? Why do I even have to worry about this after 25+ years of the compact disc?
