Direct quote from interview with IW devs,
Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?
Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.
PC not a direct port wut? (http://imgur.com/YUkGU) (though this might be fake, I dunno)
Interview with CEO of Activision, publishers of CoD:MW2.
Bobby Kotick, the new face of gaming. (http://www.geeks.co.uk/7282-activision%E2%80%99s-bobby-kotick-hates-developers-innovation-cheap-games-you)
Comparison between CoD4 and MW2 multiplayer features.
Pc features wut? (http://i36.tinypic.com/2uf7sro.jpg)
Not that I was a big fan of the CoD series to begin with, but this is just shenanigans.

Played a CoD game for the first time at the EyeFinity event. Hate CoD. Moving on.
Does seem like they copped out on the PC version though. Some of my clan mates have it and have been having a lot of fun in it so eh.

IW fucked all PC users. It's all over the press.
Sadly most of the idiots that buy this crap are oblivious.
IW = EA + worse.
I don't think I need to list the gazillion websites that have pointed out that this game is a pile of shit including nice features such as staggering lag and no dedicated servers! Now you too can play with 9 year old idiots that sprout racial and sexual slurs at every chance without being able to kick them! Not to mention the insane price tag.
Oh but wait! you get a whole 4 hours of single player game time! *sarcasm*
It's pretty sad. COD once a solid PC title has been literally degraded every release down to this. I'd be suprised if IW does another PC title.

I picked it up on saturday and have been playing it a ton. I haven't played any COD game before, and so far I've actually had a lot of fun. So far I've heard less racial slurs than I do in TF2, and almost every game I play people at the end say GG. I've only had one or two games that I noticed lag and the host migration thing has worked every time(and only delayed the game by about 20 seconds).
But I do have to admit, without dedicated servers I don't really have a lot of incentive to be a team player. Everybody just goes off and does their own thing.
I wish the characters were easier to see though. I've been spoiled by TF2's bright distinct colours.

My little brother did beat it in 4 hours so it's not so much an exaggeration. I got over halfway through the game yesterday in just 2. Some of the stuff in the game is so damn graphic, heads exploding and guts going everywhere etc.
I like the airport level, I am not going to lie.

Airport level was fun :) I went through several stages of thought:
1) Crap, I can't shoot the civilians, that would be wrong!
2) Well, I better kill a few just so the other terrorists don't suspect me.
3) Ha, this machine gun is awesome, I can take out that entire crowd in just 2 seconds!
4) Mwahaha, don't think I don't see you crawling away to safety! Die DIE DIE.

I've been playing it on 360, and as far as the shit-talking 9 year olds, that's just par for the course given the console.
But I love the multiplayer. So. Much.
Single player is meh. On anything less than the hardest difficulty it practically plays itself.

I saw that the game was already hacked for dedicated server support, anyone try it out?

I am not a fan of the Call of Duty series. They're realistic like Hollywood.

I just watched a video for the 'No Russian' level, looks like society will see us as monsters for another decade.
The Russian swat should've used Snipers.

Only as monsters when taken out of context.
As far as I can tell, the game is based around atrocities, and therefore is very Anti-war, just as Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket were violent and, but were, in their entirety, meant to convey a message of anti-violence and anti-war.
I am actually happy they did it. Its about time gamers had a "What have I done!?" moment that's not simply "The village burned down because you were too busy looking for the crystal of power!" retarded. The problem is all these 9 year-olds who get their hands on the game and only think of it as really cool.
Unfortunately, it IS an XBox game, which means its all about the Multiplayer.
EDIT: I'm sure if you were playing Sniper for the Russians they'd have no trouble there :)

Do you really think big media will bother looking into the context of this?
Everything is solved with snipers.

I made no claim that the Big Media/Average Idiot will understand one bit of anything.
I'm pretty sure I could solve a lot of problems with the Future Hammer in Red Faction: Guerilla

Claiming that MW2 is anti-anything is beyond silly. It's Activision and IW milking their cash-cow, plain and simple.
Also, they're already working on a MW3 unfortunately.
MW2 is bad, and you should feel bad if you bought it.

Fuck that. There are few things in modern gaming more satisfying than putting a throwing knife through the temple of some bitchy kid.

Don't think I don't know that. Stanley Kubrick was trying to earn a buck just much as the next guy.
They could have made it generic 'kill bad guys and don't feel bad at all' but they didn't. That has to account for something, hm?
But yeah, the ultimate truth is they want some cash.

They did it because it would stir up controversy, and create more publicity. And as some people believe, there's no such thing as bad publicity.
